Upper Blepharoplasty

A fresh example of a precise, qualitative upper lid blepharoplasty, designed as a refinement on a flawless face, and how it can serve as an almost-magical tweak to the facial aesthetic balance.

Upper Blepharoplasty & Brow Lift

The approach was conservative, prioritising a natural result, good proportionality between the eyelid and the eye, and avoiding a hollowed appearance.

I also addressed a mild asymmetry in the brow tail height, achieving better balance. Scars are already settling very well and will continue to vanish.

The key in aesthetic eye surgery is for the result to sit comfortably within one's overall facial aesthetic, and this was achieved.

Upper Blepharoplasty

The patient initially presented with concerns of upper eyelid heaviness, along with some periocular swelling that we felt warranted appropriate investigation before proceeding further.

Following a reassuring pre-operative workup and a period of observation, surgery was undertaken and the results have been good. At three months, there is mild residual swelling, which remains within expected limits for her history, and she continues to do well overall.

Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty

There is a sweet spot in eyelid surgery for me.

Refreshed and brighter patient results while still looking completely like themselves.

Aim for that, ensure to blend carefully with the rest of the face, and the results can be overwhelming.

Upper Blepharoplasty & Ptosis Repair

Aesthetic upper lid surgery required the exact opposite of a cookie-cutter approach. Individual results vary based on anatomy and expectations.

Upper Blepharoplasty & Ptosis Repair (Anterior Approach)

The skin hooding over the eyelid and the eyelid itself act a little like a sash window with roman blinds, the two connected like a counterweight system.

Lifting the closed window only - ptosis repair - lowers the blinds with more fabric (or skin hooding) showing. Lifting the blinds alone - blepharoplasty - without dealing with a closed window, makes the window seem more closed.

Both need assessment in every upper lid surgery and, if needed, both need correction. Ptosis surgery defines how open the window is. Blepharoplasty defines the length of fabric showing.

The combination of ptosis repair and blepharoplasty in both eyes is challenging and requires careful measurements and considerable patience during surgery.

Upper Blepharoplasty

When it comes to how blood clots, blood vessels heal, and tissue reacts with swelling, some are, of course, a little luckier than others.

Lower Blepharoplasty

Excellent seven-day progress, with visible settling of the lower eyelid presenting a naturally rested, refined result.

The lower eyelid is a delicate structure and the recovery is closely monitored. This patient healed beautifully and the early result speaks for itself.

Asian Blepharoplasty

This beautiful young patient came during a very busy period of study, wanting to reduce upper eyelid heaviness and improve irritation from lashes touching the eye.

We had a detailed consultation where we went through exactly what she wanted to achieve. She had already done her research into double lid surgery and had a very clear idea of the crease shape she preferred. We discussed different options and refined the plan together so it was tailored specifically to her facial features.

In clinic, I used crease simulation to demonstrate different eyelid crease heights and shapes so we could agree on a precise and natural-looking result. This is where experience with Asian eyelid anatomy really matters - understanding subtle variations in lid fold patterns and how different techniques can create either a soft, natural crease or a more defined appearance depending on preference.

She underwent surgery and had a very smooth recovery with minimal bruising and a swift return to studies. The result matched the plan beautifully and gave a natural, refreshed look while keeping everything in harmony with her facial features.
